Nars cheek palette (orgasm infatuation)

It is totally time for a makeup review, as this blog is first and foremost a beauty blogging site!  Also because this is a product I got for my birthday from my sister and absolutely has to be bragged about and shared with the world.  Incidentally, I didn't put this in my 'wish list', my sister just has a very very good idea of the sort of products I like!

I've always been a fan of Nars blushers, and have only ever had them before as a single colour from this company.  My first experience was I think 16 year old me feeling completely grown up and choosing from SpaceNK the famous Orgasm blush with my weekend earnings. I loved that blush, its matt packaging and the slight sparkle it had to the rose hue.

And somehow, along the away....it's been a very long time sine I've gone back to Nars blushes.  So to get a trio I was really very excited and my soul actually exploded when I opened the pack and saw it was the .....

The Orgasm Infatuation Palette!!

Now THAT is a name for a blush palette haha!
I really can't praise this palette enough.  For me, it is also more of a contouring palette.  As the dark brown colour is perfect for defining the cheek bones.  I also use the colour under my jaw at the sides and also in the side corners of my forehead.  The colour is dark with a little bit of shimmer, and I adore how it isn't matt.  It gives a sunkissed glow, rather than that scary contour colour you can normally see.  With a big fluffy brush, this dark hue is also perfect for all over bronzing if you don't fancy or you are not a contour person.

This dark shade is called Laguna, and I also believe it is a best selling colour in the NARS bronzing range.  So you know you are off to a winner with this palette with it already having Orgasm and Laguna.

I already mentioned to you how much I have always like the shade Orgasm.  And as Nars has named the palette after this colour, you can see it is their trophy amongst their blusher shades.  It looks very dark for a blush, but actually gives the perfect tint pf pink without being too heavy.  I think this shade is actually a very good colour for most people of most skin types.  It is also important to put a little blush on if you use foundation as though foundation clears your blemishes, it also erases any natural rosy hue you might have.  Orgasm gives you that pinched cheek pink colour back.  I really hope this colour gets nominated in the Global Makeup Awards as it really deserves to be recognised as a great blusher.

The third colour is great and I'm relieved to say that.  Often, when makeup brands put the highlighter, it is a moonlit silver that doesn't look natural, or is white which is so hard to work with.  This third colour, is called Orgasm highlighting blush.  This highlighter has a lovely peach tone to it so stays away from that harsh, icy silver tone you see so often.

Price tag - I have good news for you ladies.  This product is typically £35.00 (still a great price for three full sized blush and bronzers.  BUT is currently reduced to £24.50 from SpaceNK.  Winning!

Batiste Dry Conditioner Review

Morning my lovlies!

I have a real treat in store for you today, as I've discovered no less than a miracle product!  I've always been a Batiste fan as their Dry Shampoo has saved me on a lot of occasions, but now they've brought out a Conditioning Mist.

This product isn't a Dry Shampoo at all, but in fact is a mist that you spray into your hair which is infused with Argan Oil which is to smooth your dry and damaged hair and to help to put moisture back into it.

The Test:  I thought I would put it to the ultimate test: MY HAIR.  As you lovely readers have seen, my hair is the epitome of dry, damaged and unmanageable. I had washed my hair yesterday and kept it in a messy bun so this morning when I took it out it was an absolute mess. Knotty, dry, curly and just generally terrible.

Before I sprayed, I tried to run my fingers a bit through my hair so the spray would cover more evenly.  It was too knotty so in the end I had to dive right in and just sprayed generous amounts of the Conditioning Mist through my hair.

Results: INSTANTLY smoother hair that was much more manageable and my split ends looked much smoother. I could even run my fingers to run through it.  It seemed as if my hair had honestly just had a conditioning treatment.  I am over the moon with this product - it will be an absolute life saver to all of you with tyrannical locks! If you have perfect silky hair - don't bother.

DO REMEMBER it is not a dry shampoo, so it wont make your greasy hair look fresher, it will just make it smoother and more manageable.  This is why I used it with my industrially sized (and almost empty) Batiste dry shampoo in blush.  This way, I had manageable AND non greasy hair this morning!!!

What do you guys think? Are you tempted to try it out?? xxxxx

BEAUTY HAUL - ysl city drive, chanel creme blush, hotel chocolat....

Hi Ladies,

Yesterday evening was spent doing a spot of shopping with my friend JoJo and eating a fabulous Mexican buritto on South Bank at a restaurant called Wahacas, do you know it??

I also had a bit of a beauty haul, so here's a few snaps from my phone of what I got! (excuse the bad quality and the fact I can't rotate them!)

First up: YSL City drive Arty Palette AW13 (link here)

This is my pride and joy of the beauty buys - I'm super excited to show you Autumn's YSL palette called City Drive.  Stunning gold and fuchsia packaging and  comes with 4 amazing colours- neon green, electric blue, chrome plated steel and asphalt black.  Can't wait to try these shades which are all just perfect for creating a street look for here in London!

Next up Le Blush Creme de Chanel - 61 Destiny (link here)
Sorry I forgot to take a photo of the open packet, but this is a really unusual blush shade in what I'm tempted to call tan/beige. Great for creating that perfect bronzed cheek bone and creating a great shape and adding colour without any rosey hues.

Revive - Cocoa Juvenate Hand cream by Hotel Choclat (link)
This is a bit of a novelty item as I didn't know that Hotel Chocolat (my FAVORITE chocolate company) made beauty products, so I couldn't resist this hand cream.

I was a bit dissappointed it didn't smell at all of chocolate (though maybe that would have been gross anyway) but it does feel very luxurious and is made of cocoa butter, shea butter and mango seed oil.  It really does leave your hands feeling super nourished without any sticky residue.

On the whole a beautiful product, but a little too large to keep in your hand bag but PERFECT for on your desk at work.

i
A trio of nail varnishes - I'll do a much more detailed set of Mani blogs on these but couldn't resist the following by Illasmasqua, Essie and Rimmel as they were all the exact shades that I've been searching for for a while for entering into this Autumn.

The view of sunset from where I spent my evening on South Bank!  It was such a beautiful beautiful evening, I'm so going to miss these when we're back in Winter :(

I hope you like my haul, even though I'm feeling a bit guilty about it! xxxxxx
