The best winter vacation in Copenhagen

I go to Copenhagen about 4-5 times a year and it is my favourite destination for a weekend winter long weekend.

There's nothing more festive than walking around the winter markets, I fell in love with reindeer skin the last time I was there which would make a magnificent throw for a sofa.  But I had to stop myself as I felt too guilty....perhaps I can find a synthetic one somewhere!

It's important to escape from the cold though.  After  along day walking around, especially if you make the trip out to see 'the mermaid' you will probably be thoroughly frozen to the core and  looking forward to a warm cosy hotel to come back to.

My favourite hotel in Copenhagen is the STAY Appartments.  (http://staycopenhagen.dk/)
They go absolutely all out on the nordic minimalist black and white decor. I'm not used to this style as live in a very traditional 'English countryside' house! But I absolutely love this minimalist style within this modern apartment.

There is underfloor heating which makes this apartment divine.  The cosy sunset outside and the open kitchen meant I could enjoy a beautifully home cooked meal in the atmosphere of this cool and chic apartment.

Staying in a normal hotel you would never get to experience the true glam of nordic chic as you can do here.  I would absolutely recommend it to all tourists looking for a a little extra 'glam' for their vacation.  It is a 15 minute walk from the centre or you could hop in a taxi!

Enjoy the pictures!

Love, fiocco

Review of Nimb Hotel - Copenhagen

I travel regularly to Copenhagen in Denmark regularly, and over Christmas I was lucky enough to stay in Nimb hotel. (http://www.nimb.dk/)

Nimb hotel is located right next to the amazing theme park Tivoli, and exudes a lot of Tivoli's fun and warmth in its creation and design as well as a mix of strong Nordic influence.

Location wise, there's nothing better, you are right in front of the train station and there is a fantastic patisserie bar located right on the side.  You are also just a stone's through away from the shopping centre which has an amazing collection of shops which you can't find in the UK.  One of my favourite's being BIKBOK!

If you stay there, be sure to pop into the theme park Tivoli - it is like a magical garden with so much to see, from rides, to stalls to fabulous gardens.  It is perfect for the whole family and will leave you mesmerised.

The room was super comfortable, I absolutely loved the fabulous view over Tivoli as well as the comfortable bed.  A stay here is extra special and worth it for special occasions.  As you can see, even the reception exudes quality and style.  The whole stay, from the moment you walk in makes you feel special!

Be sure to pop into the patisserie shop next door and try real Danish pastries!  They are so much better when they are authentically made and the cream inside them is absolutely moreish!

I love how Nimb hotel has a personalised bicycle in the reception.  Everywhere in Copenhagen, everyone goes by bike!  It is so strange but refreshing to not have the streets full of cars, but instead rows and rows of bicycles.

I absolutely would recommend Nimb hotel and a stay in Copenhagen for the chance to really explore and enjoy the magic of the city!

STAY Copenhagen - luxury appartments

Hello!

I have just spent an amazing long weekend in Denmark.  A beautiful weekend away where I got to enjoy the sites of Copenhagen.

As gorgeous as Copenhagen is - I had to tear myself away from the luxury apartment we were staying in.  Honestly, walking into the room itself, was just breath taking.  I think I'll let the photos speak for themselves for most of this post, as I don't think I can do the STAY apartments justice!

As you can see they provide gorgeous open plan rooms - ours was a whopping 135m squared of open space.  It's designed in modern Scandinavian style - minimalist, fashionable and monochrome. Every detail of the STAY apartment had been thought out and carefully designed - filled with the most beautiful of details.

Here's me chilling on one of the two wool sofas.  I was too excited about the mini tealights they provided - it's such a small touch in the grand scale of things but made the apartment homely.

We had one of the corner apartments with the view on two sides of the apartment making it feel even larger than it already was.  The windows were floor length and overlooking the canal and the twinkling buildings over the road.  The effect was just magical and made the whole stay so beautiful.  This is absolutely no ordinary hotel - being on the fifth floor and the size and scale of the room meant it was more like a penthouse apartment.

The view of the sunset was incredible, as the purple and blue tones of the sky filled the room.  Together with the soft accent lighting in the room meant it was the perfect place to relax at the end of the day after a busy day of shopping.

The kitchen was filled with pots and pans and everything you need to make a delicious dinner.  It made such a nice change to be in a new exciting country but have all the commodities of home and to enjoy eating your dinner at your own dining room.

I would definitely recommend the STAY apartments to anybody - from a couple who want a luxury modern apartment with an incredible view, or even to a family as you have all the comforts of your own home.  The Organic breakfast was also delicious, with local smoked salmon and a selection of cheeses, meats and fresh fruit.

Overall, out visit to the STAY apartments was probably one of the best of my life.  We were honestly left open mouthed when walking into the apartment and seeing the incredible space and of course the view.  The reception staff were so friendly and helpful too - they also offered us a glass of wine to enjoy at the bar on the ground floor.  If you have the chance to go to Copenhagen, then it is definitely worth staying here in order to make your visit absolutely fabulous.
