OOTD Asos Black Mesh insert Maxi dress

Hey Dolls,

I don't often post formal OOTDs on here but here's a goody.  It's called Black mesh insert maxi dress. It is a stunning dress perfect for formal occasions and was an absolute bargain from Asos.

Sooo drumroll on the price.... Just £17!  Can you believe it!?  Reduced from £25.99 and available here.

It's hard when youv'e got a formal occasion but you need a new dress.  I have several lovely formal dresses - did you see the melon coloured Alberta Ferretti dress?  But if you are with the same crowd it is often hard to repeat the same dress.  So, I had a little search on ASOS through their floor lengths and ended up getting two very similar ones.

I love the elegance of this racer neck dress and it has a stunning back which is a bit of a T style.  The material isn't the most expensive, but hey, what do you expect for £17!  It also has a thigh length split and looks perfect with heels in any colour.  It has a thin mesh see-through panel under the bust which I just love.

But I also bought a second dress which I didn't wear....and I love it more but it's a tad too short and was also another bargain at £25. (ps I'm 5 foot 10 so a floor length dress is a little tricky).  This one was a Club L racer front dress - but it is just too short and unforgiving because of its mermaid bottom.  I didn't have the heart to turn it back though....perhaps I'll wear it one day with no heels?

Love my LBD from ASOS

What do you think?  I think it was a fabulous buy for such a good price and a great way to wear a new outfit perfect for the occasion without breaking the bank!

Beach Walk OOTD

Hello lovelies

On this mini vacation to Italy I've gone to the gorgeous riverside town of Cattolica near San Marino.

Yesterday I went for a gorgeous beach walk along the pier of Cattolica, and the sky was looking stunning at sunset. I'd spent a great day walking through the town enjoying lots of shopping.  They have fantastic makeup stores there and I purchased a few Chanel & YSL lipsticks in dark shades of brown which I'll be featuring on the blog soon.  I can't tell if I love or hate them on me - they are all the craze now since Kylie Jenner's new lip kip range so had wanted to try it out for a while!

It's still a bit chilly in the spring air, so had to wrap up warm for this beach front walk and so chose a  Zara leather coat,  Guess Jeans and H&M khaki shirt.  A really simple outfit which is perfect for casual and dining out.

There is nothing more relaxing than a riverfront walk to clear the mind and awaken the body.

Looking forward to being back in the UK tomorrow!

Budget bikini or designer? Primark vs Moschino

Wassup ladies.

So it's coming up to that time of year where things are warming up and perhaps you're looking at fabulous holiday destinations for the summer!!

I know that's what I'm doing - anyone who follows my blog knows that I am constantly dreaming of Italy or any other warm European country with sea, sand and incredible food!!

But - I've been considering bikini options.  Don't get me wrong - I have Moschino bikinis galore *guilty pleasure* but I thought I'd try out some budget bikinis too last summer to mix it up.  And the results were surprising  ........

The above blue and white bikini is....????????

Primark!  I think it cost under £5.00 in total.  What. A. Bargain.  I chose it because I'd packed my suitcase full of bikinis then 1 hour before my flight realised I had backed all bandeaux and needed a triangle bikini to sort out the tan lines.  After popping into Primark I found this stunner of a bikini.

I loved the nautical blue and white colour and thought I would just try it out to see.  I ended up wearing this stunner for most of the holiday - it lasted well and washed great.  It wasn't lined with nice soft lining like the Moschino below and the material didn't have a silky finish....but it dried quickly, was comfortable and looked great.

Below is a Moschino polka dot bikini.  The finish is much better, it has a silky touch and delicate gold clips to remove the neck tie.  But, it doesn't come cheap costing approx £120.  (oops, don't judge me!!)  I would say you can get a similar effect with a £5 bikini and really you enjoy yourself more in a cheaper one.  In the polka dot one below I am always worried about ruining it, sand getting into it and generally it is more high maintenance which isn't the best when on holiday.

So what is your personal choice?  Cheap or designer???

I think Primark beat Moschino this time!

Alberta Ferretti Evening Gown in Monte Carlo

 Hey lovely ladies

This is a really late post!  But it is of a gorgeous evening gown in a sumptuous melon colour that I wore in Monte Carlo for a red carpet event.

It's not every day that you get invited to a party in Monte Carlo, let alone a red carpet launch, so I had to make sure that my dress was extra special! I chose a silk floor length grecian style Alberta Feretti dress SS15.  I'm not going to say how much it cost as it makes me feel way to guilty - but sometimes in life a girls got to feel really special!

I bought this dress in Italy and I can't find the exact link to it online - I quite like that though as it feels even more exclusive!

When choosing the dress I was between this one an another long dress which was black with black lace.  The other one was stunning too, and probably more practical as you can wear it to more occasions, but seeing as this event was in the summer, by the sea and in the illustrious Monte Carlo I decided to go with the far more summery cantoulope melon shade!

I love the twisted straps and the low v front neck to this dress. It really is super special and one that I will always remember fondly even if I don't wear it again!  It has a really heavy floor length skirt that looks stunning when you twist or turn.

For this look I decided to keep the makeup simple - making the most of my natural tan and decided to wear fake eyelashes.  My hair was up in a twisted up do and didn't look too bad considing I managed it by myself!

I hope you like it!!!

Wine coloured OOTD for Autumn

Hello Sweeties,

Erghhh, it's September already.  I feel like Summer flashed by and we didn't really even get a real glimpse of it.

But, one of the things I love about Autumn, is it's colour palette.  I think it suits my skin tone much more than Summers pastels, I like dark, deep colours which reflect Autumn.

At the moment I've been going crazy for wine / mulberry / burgundy tones.  An absolute bargain is this elastic cotton dress from ASOS.  It is only £10 which makes it a superb every day buy.  I love how it is figure hugging but still down to the knees and with sleeves.

A perfect sophisticated yet stylish dress for work or play.

What are your favourite Autumn colours?

Black Lace Dress OOTD

OOTD -

Here is my OOTD - even though it is more an outfit of the evening!  It is a very form fitting dress which I love, just one thing to be careful with is putting your arms through the sleeves as they are so delicate and can snag or rip easily.  It is a simple but great outfit for dressing up.

Black lace dress from H&M with matching smokey eyes.  I always think smokey eyes goes well with evening outfits as it is just a bit too heavy for the day.

I used Clarin's smokey eye pallet which has a smattering of gold in the black powder.  I am also wearing Essie's Violet nail varnish to try and stay away from looking too gothic!

This dress was an absolute bargain at £15.00 and is great for a restaurant or club with its lace sleeves it can pass for both.

OOTD white H&M dress

Hello my sweeties,

I've literally become obsessed with this gorgeous white dress from h&m.  It is light and airy and perfect for these humid summer days.

It is great for during the day, or in the evening.  Here is my day look, with a pair of Moschino sunnies, and no makeup.  The perfect cute outfit to go for a coffee and croissant.  In the evening, a pair of heels and dark lashes transforms this dress.

The best part is it costs just £24.99.  Such a good bargain that I bought one in navy too.  I didn't get a shot of the dress standing up, but it is just above the knees.

Definitely my favourite summer staple so far!

OOTD Moschino Black Leather Bag with Max Mara Camel Coat

Hello my chicas!

Here is my outfit of the day!

It hasn't been the best June weather-wise here in London, so I've had to wrap up warm!

I am absolutely in love with my new purchases- a gorgeous black leather bag my Moschino (available from www.moschino.com) and a camel coat.

I've seen a few Victoria's Secrets models wearing similar coats recently so I had to get one.  They are great for this chilly weather which isn't too cold, but definitely weather for a coat.

They look sophisticated and classy, but still edgy.  Mine is from www.maxmara.com.  They are a little bit pricey, but I see them as an investment piece, as they will never go out of fashion.

I matched the bag and coat with Zara jeans and Bertie brown leather boots.

Moschino bag....if you hadn't noticed!

OOTD for Sushi Samba - Silk blue floor length dress

Hey lovely ladies,

Here is my outfit of the day - it's more elegant than I normally wear as it was a special occasion - going to Sushi Samba in London.  It is a bespoke dress made to measure by an Italian little known stylist - I'd been saving it for a special occasion and I thought  Sushi Samba would have been the perfect occasion - however, as you'll see later I was so so disappointed!

The dress

The dress is delicate floor length and elegant with a simple high neck and jeweled detail.  It is fitted on the waist with a with a ribbon belt with the same jeweled details and with low cut sleeves. I love the petrol blue of this dress as the colour is so strong it matches the dresses simple detail.  I think this sort of design is perfect for Christmas parties with its jazzy jewels and strong colour, to make a change  of the little black dress.

Sorry for the blurry last image....they all came out like that but I wanted to show you how long it was!

The dress is in a fine silk and I matched it with a simple Zara leather jacket.

And how was Sushi Samba?????

Sushi Samba was so cold I had to leave my jacket on all evening. They also didn't bring our drinks until 5 minutes after the food had arrived.

As for the food - I was so disappointed.  I inquired about the Moqueca Mista and asked if it came with sauce or not - and the waitress didn't seem to understand me.  It turns out that this sharing plate is in fact pints of sickly sweet sauce and with just one prawn and some scarce scatterings of mussels There's also overcooked bright green rice in the middle.  I know I'm spoiled having my other half who is a chef, however, I think anybody would have returned this dish.  I complained about it and the waitress didn't understand, smiled and waltzed off.

We ended up spending a fortune there and didn't enjoy unfortunately, despite it being an anniversary celebration....oh well....... maybe I'll have better luck next time

OOTD Zara Pink Jacquard Coat with Pockets

Hey sweeties,

Those of you in London have probably seen that this August is pretending to be Autumn already.  The weathers turned, and it's pretty much freezing the whole time now.  I needed a jacket which was great for Autumn as all my heavy Winter ones were far too much for August - whipping out the fur trim is just a bit too far.

So I snapped up a bargain in the Zara sale, purchasing for just £29.99 (from £89.99) this pretty pastel pink Jacquard coat with double side pockets (link).

You can see best in the picture above how nicely this coat just sits with its beautifully cut round neck line and long cut. The material is just beautiful made from almost pure cotton and is in a lovely pink and cream shade

Zara Pink Jacquard Coat with Pockets

The three quarter sleeves are just perfect for keeping you warm without being too stiffling but what I really love about the coat is the cut.  The neckline is so elegant and the front just drapes down.  There are no fastenings, so it's just a light, throw on coat.  I also got it a size larger than usual as it looks great a little over sized as it sits loosely on the shoulders.

What to wear it with? This Zara Jacquard Coat looks great dressed up or down.  I dressed it down with some black J Brand skinnies and leather boots, but I can even see Zara coat going with cute plain summer dresses.

So, that's my OOTD, don't you just love snapping up a sale coat from Zara! Let me know if you got anything!

Amalfi Coast OOTD

Good morning!

It's really hard to describe a place like the Amalfi Coast, as I'll never do it any justice.  So here are a few snapshots of it's beauty.  We drove all the way down the coast for  several hundred miles, and it was pretty much all like the shot below - deep blue sees, green mountains and pink flowers.

Travelling I like to be as comfortable as possible, especially when we were driving for so long.  So I just wore trusty old denim shorts with this cute little 'Elland Vest' from Jack Wills. It's now in the sale too for just £14.00 - an absolute bargain as it's a top which goes with everything.  I then just matched with with some nude gap leather flipflops

I have a bit of an all blue OOTD, but whenever I'm by the sea, I always find myself wearing colours which mirror the sea! Weird I know, but I absolutely love it. This casual outfit was perfect for keeping me cool and comfortable and yet great too for casual trips to the beach, bars and restaurants.  Speaking of which - if you find yourself down towards the Amalfi coast, make sure you try the pizza 'Sorrentino' which uses fresh buffalo mozzerella, pendolini tomatoes and tonnes of basil.  You won't regret it I promise!

So that's it for now - I hope I've given you a bit of inspiration to go on a road trip round the Amalfi Coast too.  I know I can't wait to get back!

Lots of love xx

OOTD in Sorrento

 Hello lovely ladies,

It's hot hot hot and frankly, I couldn't be happier!  I love when the sun is out creating beautiful sunsets and you can go out at night and enjoy the cool air.  It reminds me of the holiday I just got back from in Sorrento so this is n OOTD which can be recreated here in our glorious British weather that we're having at the moment.

Clothes - I wore a Zara white long sleeve top with transparent shoulder panels (it is super thin though so perfect for the evening) with a dark blue zara pleated mini skirt.

Makeup -  I had a tan so foundation was out the door as a colour match with a tan is near impossible and paramount to sacrilegious! So instead I just put on powder to minimise the shine, bright fuschia YSL lipgloss and lashings of mascara.

Hair - Super straight with Label M age defying radiance oil.  I can't live without this oil - it is non greasy and does an amazing job at minimising frizz and making it smell delicious. It retails at £25.50 - this is pricey but I would definitely say its worth it.

It looks like I'm wearing old school 10 denier tights but this is my tan, can you believe it!

So that was my OOTD - I felt sleek and sophisticated in this outfit and absolutely perfect for an evening out on the Amalfi coast.  Italians always nail their outfits and I tried not to be the garish brit abroad with florescent shorts ( I saved those for the beach - you'll be getting a peak of them soon!)

OOTD jeans and khaki

Morning my lovlies!

Here's a quick post on my casual OOTD wearing khaki and black.  I love this outfit as it's so comfy and casual and just perfect for spring with the loose blouse's airy sleeves.

I'm wearing an H&M £12.99 khaki loose shirt (one size larger than normal)
J Brand Jeans black skinnies with ribbing down the side
Black Leather ankle boots by Bertie.
Dower & Hall jewellery

Khaki shirt and J Brand Black Skinny Jeans

This look transfers really well from daytime to evening as it can be dressed up and down depending on your hair and jewellery.

It's also a really simple look as most people have a favourite pair of skinny jeans and this season khaki is bang on trend and perfect to match with them.  My J Brand skinny jeans were in the sale in January and I have been wearing them non-stop since.  It really is investing in a staple piece like the ones above!

Hope you enjoy my khaki OOTD!!

OOTD with January SALE favourites

Hey Dolls!

Here is a quick OOTD which is a really simple look with denim and leather. It features some of my favourite items purchased during the January Sales and so should still be available to snap up!  My best buy has to be the Bertie Pasco leather ankle boots which I had been eyeing up for months which have been reduced from £115.00 to £69.00 at John Lewis (link here).

I think the leather Bertie ankle boots make this look
The OOTD features my brand new favorite leather ankle boots from Bertie (link) which come in a really soft black leather with simple side zip.  I matched it with leather jacket, ripped jeans and a really cute cream mixed Angora jumper from Fat Face.

Super comfy Fat Face jumper only £20 from £42.00

I wore it just for a casual day shopping round London as it is so comfortable and easy to wear.  The Bertie leather ankle boots are super comfortable and the jumper was perfect for the cold weather.
